Nurse Practitioner Angela Johnson Joins Rockford Spine Center

Specialty Practice Expands Its Team of Professionals

Rockford, Ill. (April 28, 2016)Nurse Practitioner Angela Johnson, M.S.N., A.N.P.-B.C., F.N.P.-B.C., recently joined Rockford Spine Center. She is the first nurse practitioner to join RSC and will work with staff to increase patient access and provide a wide variety of care to patients.  

 

Johnson is a board-certified Adult Nurse Practitioner as well as Family Nurse Practitioner. She earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Winona State University in Minnesota; a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Cincinnati; and a post-master’s certificate from the OSF Saint Anthony College of Nursing.

 

Prior to joining Rockford Spine Center, Johnson worked as an Advanced Practice Nurse at FHN in Freeport for four years.  She also has eight years of experience working as an inpatient nurse caring for pre- and post-operative orthopedic and trauma patients as well as acutely and chronically ill medical, surgical and oncology patients. 

 

She is a member of the National Association of Orthopaedic Nurses—Rock River Valley Chapter; Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society; Golden Key International Honor Society and Minnesota Student Nursing Association.  Johnson has also conducted research in preventing infections after knee and hip surgeries; treating lower back pain; and managing osteoarthritis.

 

“Angela brings a unique combination of strong nursing skills and a drive to be the best she can in all aspects of life,” says Michael Roh, M.D., President of Rockford Spine Center. “She joins our non-surgical spine specialist, Dr. Marie Walker, to provide comprehensive evaluations and customized treatment plans.  Considerable amount of time will be spent educating patients on their spine conditions and having the patients involved in the treatment plan decisions.”
