Dr. Jeffrey T. Behr
born in Augusta, Georgia, attended Duke University where he received an
undergraduate B.S. degree in Zoology in 1977. He graduated with
distinctions as a
member of Phi Beta Kappa.
He pursued postgraduate studies
at Rush Medical College, obtaining his Medical Degree (M.D.) in
1981. He subsequently completed his orthopedic surgical residency
at Loyola University Medical Center in July of 1986. He pursued
additional training in orthopedic sports medicine in San Francisco
for the remainder of 1986.
Dr. Behr received his Board Certification
in Orthopedic Surgery in 1989 and was re-certified in 1999. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic
Surgeons as well as a member of several other professional
medical organizations and societies. He served as Chairman of the
Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Rockford Health System from
1992 through 2000.
Dr. Behr is active in
continuing medical education. He has given numerous lectures
and written
several published orthopedic articles. He is a Clinical
Associate Professor at the University of Illinois College of Medicine.
Dr. Behr practices
general
orthopedics with emphasis in sports medicine, joint replacements,
and hand surgery.
When he is not practicing
orthopedics he enjoys
spending time with his family, gardening and landscaping, swimming, racquet
sports, animals (special interest in turtles-click

Homes and Gardens"), fishing, travel, art,
computer graphics, ballroom dancing, tai chi, and reading.
